My maternal grandfather volunteered to join the Australian Army in the Second World War. From the comfort and security of the Jewish Community in Carlton, he was transported to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea for active service, as part of the 1st Australia Corp. I have a cherished photo of him in Army gear, standing in jungle swamp land with other Australian diggers whilst there. I am proud and appreciative of my grandfather’s contribution to the allied war effort. He played his role and did what he could to help keep Australia safe. For this, I will always be grateful.
It is therefore deeply disappointing and distressing to learn about an Anti-Zionist Lobby Group called “Teachers for Palestine” disrespecting and making a mockery of Anzac Day by attempting to revise our proud history and conduct an all out assault on Judeo-Christian values. This is offensive and disgusting and should be called out for the hatred and lies that this group of so-called educators are brainwashing our innocent school students with currently. Federal (ALP) Education Minister Jason Clare says nothing and does nothing about any of this, in line with the ALP’s staunch, unwavering support for pro-Palestinian constituents from within their own marginal electorates nationally. Political suicide is simply not an option for Jason Clare and his leftist cronies.
These teachers are actively shifting the narrative in classrooms across Victoria and the country more broadly. This is an abuse of power and authority by these teachers and intentionally skews the opinions and beliefs of students to adopt a pro-Islamic narrative. What an absolute disgrace! Of course, those from the ALP and Australian Greens will remain predictably quiet. Amazing how freedom of speech is supported by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan when it comes to historical revisionism permeating through the mandated educational curriculum in Australian schools.
One Nation Party Leader Pauline Hanson (23/4/24) said that “the Albanese Labor Government hates truth and accountability, and loves to use censorship as a tool to silence political speech.” Unless this political speech relates to pro-Palestinian historical revisionism and similar antisemitic lunacy. No censorship or silencing occurs in such circumstances. Double standards and pontification are par for the course for our distinguished Prime Minister. Finding the right balance in this regard is challenging. However, the bias in this case is astounding.
In case you didn’t know, more than 70 Victorian teachers and school staff attended a forum “Teachers for Palestine: why there’s no ‘neutrality’ on genocide” on 22 January this year, despite the Opposition Education spokesperson calling for the Education Department to discipline attendees. Of course, they didn’t. The ALP have a stellar track-record remaining silent when such events occur.
These so-called educators are entrusted with the privilege of teaching Australia’s young minds to hold a balanced and fair view of Australian history so they can critically analyse past events and draw their own conclusions. Teachers should embrace openness of thought when it comes to teaching anything related to history and politics. They are blatantly abusing such rights and should be sanctioned immediately. As per the 3AW website (23/4/24), Tom Elliott clashed with “Teachers for Palestine” spokesperson and Victorian secondary school teacher, Pippa Tandy, as the activist group launches an attack on Anzac Day.
The activist group says “we won’t be glorifying Australia’s military history this Anzac Day” and the 3AW Mornings host grilled Ms Tandy over her knowledge of Anzac Day and history in general. “You realise you sound like a conspiracy theorist,” he said. I am thankful we have sensible, educated and common-sense media commentators like Tom Elliott who can call out these fraudsters for attempting to re-write the historical narrative about a country which has provided them with the democratic right to openly share their views without persecution. One does not need to be an expert in Middle Eastern Politics to know that if views which are shared are contrary to the espoused doctrine of Islamic extremist dictatorships in countries such as Iran and Syria, cruel, harsh and deadly punishments await you.
Just to show you how far that “Teachers for Palestine” will go to promote their revisionist viewpoints, they have produced an educational guide which is available to anyone online. In this guide, they motivate teachers to believe that “Schools in Australia are deliberate targets for government funded mystification about the country’s role in wars. Primary school children have been recruited in the production of war memorial soundscapes and writing messages of thanks on dead soldiers’ graveside crosses. Such instances of official remembrance obscure the realities of war, and the consequences of Australia’s role in imperialism and militarisation. As teachers, we should strive to resist this, and we should introduce our students to the real history of the ANZAC’s – in Palestine and elsewhere.”
Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party hits the nail on the head once again
Contrast this to the unequivocal support for commemorating Anzac Day in an appropriate, respectful and dignified manner from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party. In her statement (19/4/24), Hanson says that “Anzac Day is our nation’s most important commemoration, when we remember and acknowledge the service and sacrifice of Australians who have fought in wars and conflicts since the Gallipoli campaign which began on 25 April 1915.”
Hanson hits the nail on the head as per usual, when she talks about the self-shaming nature of the Australian identity in modern times, rightly stating that “with Labor and Green leaders routinely shaming and bagging our nation and the values which built and defended it, why would the young people believing these lies even be motivated to put on a uniform? For what values or cause would they fight, if not their own nation and its people? Conversely, why would any sensible young Australian fight for a country essentially remade in the perverse image envisioned by the extremist woke left, as Labor and the Greens are trying their hardest to do?” I could not have said it better myself!
Before you succumb to the unfounded and intellectually stupid “Pauline Hanson is racist” notion, think about her steadfast and unashamed support for traditional Australian values and culture. Hanson couldn’t be more accurate when she says that “Anthony Albanese better think long and hard about what he is doing to our national ethos and the impression of our nation he is giving to young Australians, as this young generation is the group he will call to war for nice photo opportunities and to show he is the leader we all wished he was.”
Blame the Jews, as per usual
Predictably, this “Teachers for Palestine” group believes that the way in which we teach Australian students about the heroic Gallipoli landing and subsequent battle in the First World War are “acts of quasi-religious myth-making (which) have continued to this day.” Sadly, this ragtag bunch of extremist educators lurking in classrooms are working tirelesly to blame this on the Jews. Of course, this is all our fault. They are on record as stating that if both Australia and Israel “form their identities through stories of noble military successes, they both also hide a history of horrific, racially motivated violence against Palestinians. More than this, the brutal massacre committed by the ANZACs at Sarafand al-‘Amar chillingly portended the Nakba, the catastrophic displacement of Palestinians in 1947-1949.”
Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is also targeted by these teachers and called out for being a Zionist sympathiser. So, this all must be his fault as well. “Teachers for Palestine” believe that “Turnbull did not share this more sinister parallel because it did not suit the heroic myth-making project of the Australian and Israeli governments to do so. As teachers, however, it is our obligation to bring this history to light.”
We have a moral and ethical obligation to highlight the mythical, biaised, and vitriolic educational agenda of “Teachers for Palestine”. Local schools in your area should be contacted and made aware of this madness, not just relating to how we educate Australian schoolchildren about Anzac Day, but about Australian history in general, as well as the truth of Israel and Zionism.
Let the bright, young minds of our youth, the future leaders of this country, decide for themselves about the morality and ethics of past events and actions which have shaped Australia to be the vibrant democracy that we are in 2024. We should be proud to stand up and commemorate the heroism and sacrifices made by the ANZAC soldiers to provide us with the freedom, liberty and democracy that we all presently enjoy.

Thankyou Pauline for standing up for Australia. These Palestinian people causing trouble in OUR country should all be deported. They supposedly leave a country where they cannot live in peace to come to our country . Their one aim is to make our country the same as the country they left. 👎🏿😪👎🏿
Thanks for your comments, Suzanne. It is counter-intuitive when you think about it. You’re right. I believe Pauline Hanson is consistently standing up for what is important, particularly when it comes to preserving our national identity and a sense of pride in being Australian.
I know of five of my relatives who served in active duty in war, four of them during WW2, including one who was a POW at Changi.
Not all of them returned home; they gave the ultimate sacrifice.
One of them was my grandfather, who was one of the Rats of Tobruk, and I am proud of him and the service he gave his country. I count it a privilege that he did return, so that I had the opportunity to know him, as I know many of those he fought alongside gave the ultimate sacrifice and did not return.
They all fought, and some died, to protect the freedoms that Australia 🇦🇺 has, and I respect all those who have their service, especially to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
We owe the freedoms and way of life that we are privileged to enjoy in this great Nation of Australia 🇦🇺 to them for their service, especially to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and I am disgusted by those who would attempt to taint or discredit the sacrifice they made, especially by those who would attempt to “rewrite” history.
“We will remember them”
“Lest we forget”
and cherish the memory of gran
That’s wonderful, Stephen. Thanks for sharing a bit about your story here. It’s appreciated. You have a proud family history of courage and sacrifice. I’m sure you are very proud of this.
The so-called Palestinians are themselves so guilty of what they accuse everyone else of.
And they have caused so much trouble even amongst their own Arab brothers that the Arab states do not want to accept them as refugees because the Palestinians would make trouble in THEIR states also.
You are absolutely right. We note that none of the Arab nations are opening their borders to the Palestinians
I did not get to know who or what stage they went to war because I was taken from my mother when Dad died of TB in an army hospital in South Australia in 1952 AMEN
Im glad they’re attacking ANZAC day and ANZACS. This is a line Australians won’t and haven’t in the past tolerated. It’s a wake up call for Australians. Our brave warriors will not be mocked by fake keffiyahs and false narratives. Keep these teachers away from our children and out of our political power bases
Schools are becoming dangerous places for our children. Imagine being the child of a serviceman and being exposed to this. These activists keep chipping away at the very fabric of our country, our culture, our history, and our confidence. It is one part of an attack on Australia. Altogether, they are weakening us. We are captive to a weak, less patriotic government than those past. We need to democratically take a stand before it is too late.
Bravo Pauline Hanson! so glad there is ONE politician who is not afraid to call it as it is.
Sadly our young people all over the world are being fed the lies and ignorance that comes from the woke educators and it is causing chaos.
Please continue to fight for change, you have my support.
I am ashamed at the lack of Australian flags we see around. There should be more. One just has to visit places like Israel, Singapore where you can’t miss where you are. The lack of respect and appreciation of our values is at record levels. Freedom must be fought for and to be kept. If they don’t like the freedoms here, there are many countries without freedoms they can go to. They’ll soon learn.
